I do occasionally listen to NPR ( National Public Radio) which is known to be an ultra-liberal media source. I do that primarily to see how the other side is thinking and sometimes for the humor of seeing just how far off base they are.
But recently I've noticed a change in their operations and their overall format. I think in some areas they are starting to get up to speed on many issues. I am also seeing them taking pro-active stances on many vital issues that they used to sweep under the rug. The program I listened to this morning can be accessed by going to www.humanmedia.org and typing in the words "working poor" and going to program number 119.
This program about the working poor in this country came close to bringing me to tears literally. The 3 people they interviewed were all decent, hard working, dedicated people who steadily went down the economic ladder the harder they worked. They documented that most of our decent paying manufacturing jobs have went to China and other 3rd world hell holes ( probably never to return). Even by the Government's own admission they calculate that at least 50% of the nation's workforce will be in the poverty level by the year 2014.
I highly urge all of you to pull up that program and listen to it by going to that website and pulling up that program that was broadcast on 08-31-08.
This I believe really coincides with the absolutely obsurd and reprehensiblely unfair tax system we currently have in this country. The IRS is a monster that is truly destroying this entire country. It is destroying businesses, homes and our entire job base in this country. This explosion of the "working poor" in this country is truly evidence that we are being exploited by modern day "robber barons" and corporate predators. Not to mention a government that has gone extremely bad to the point to where they are literally facilitating mass poverty.
Also when you pull up the choices from typing in "working poor" you will also see another program that was done on this subject by a lady journalist named Barbara Ehrenreich. I highly encourage you all to check that story out as well.

I'm sorry I was unaware that NPR was into some kind of money-making scam with this information. However I do believe that the show and interview did contain valid information. One lady who I have followed in the past 3 years who has done extensive journalism work about the plight of the "Working Poor" is Barbara Ehrenreich.
Barbara Erhenreich who has written 2 or 3 books on the subject has really done a lot of leg-work reporting how much ground the American working person is losing in this current environment. Her book exposing the dark side of wal-mart was a great expose' and it showed a growing trend on how corporations are using their workers in a very nefarious way. Also she has done splendid work exposing the downward trend in which most American workers are enduring. The American worker is getting further and further behind the 8 ball and continuing to lose ground financially in spite of their hard work. We are seeing the growth of a huge underclass who arent' much better off than slaves when all is said and done.

This issue of the "Working Poor" is another symtom of the overall destruction that the IRS is doing to the middle-class and working poor of this country. I wish you all could have heard that show. I was really sobering to wake up to on a lonely Sunday morning. But it is news we must be aware of in order to address the problem.
It is refreshing to see that NPR is now doing some investigation in these areas. Slowly but surely I think we are seeing more and more mainstream news outlets finally starting to wake up to the gravity of the problem. I think that NPR are finally starting to see some truth. It seems like their Sunday morning line up is doing more and more work in the areas of injustice, poverty, tyranny and government oppression. Check them out when you can. www.npr.org
