Grasshopper I enjoy your posts. But you evidence a defeatism I see a lot in folks who have been too long separated from liberty (in other words, folks who are not in New Hampshire). But you and dozens of others are here on this forum talking about freedom and the Federal Reserve, and you wouldn't be here in the first place if it weren't for the sacrifices the Browns are making. The same phenomenon is repeating itself on a much larger scale all over the country, over the net, and over the phone lines of our tormentors. It's a phenomenon of pro-liberty activity which the Browns' imperfect defiance has triggered. They are accomplishing much of what they set out to do, only it is occurring peaceably and electronically.

If the house is assaulted even without harm to the Browns and Co., that phenomenon will multiply again. Because to assault the home the authorities must break a solemn promise they have repeatedly made to the public. They may also have to harm or inconvenience completely uninvolved civilians.

Washington may be the entity that is in the toughest position here, not the diverse freedom movement and maybe not even the Browns.
Looking back....How many people are angry at Randy Weaver or at the Branch Dividians?

The best thing Washington can do is probably pretty close to nothing, which may embolden new defiance but which at least will not trigger the mass revulsion that Waco or Ruby Ridge engendered. That revulsion triggered a diverse opposition which prospered and grew for over a dozen years and which perhaps even now stays their hand. They're seeing that even an ambiguous show of force like the one last week raisese the Ghosts of Waco and fills their phone banks with concerned, rebellious humanity.

The negative media coverage you fear is also an overrated threat. Both the Browns and those of us who oppose Federal action against them may get such coverage. But hostile media reports simply draw in more activists without doing as much damage as you'd think. Look at history. Look at Weaver's place and the Branch Davidians' place in it. The Weavers killed a Marshal, and their supporters included a disproportionate number of neo-Nazis for God's sake! The Dividians shot and killed several ATF agents! They may have even set their own compound on fire!

Yet history has largely taken their side in each case, and the media has spent far more time chewing up Washington over the incidents than demonizing the people they raided.

Maybe I am a hopeless optimist but I don't entirely see the situation in the same gloomy light as you. Maybe if you were here you'd understand better. Ed is not pessimistic, why should you be?

The thing is a mix of tragedy and hope....tragic for the Browns personally but hopeful for some of their more worthy goals.

Dada Orwell, I too am very optomistic. I am 65 years of age and I am retired. But my generation was the generation that did start to wake up with the assassination of JFK, Vietnam war, assinations of MLK and Bobby. We knew then that something was terribly wrong. The media painted this generation as the "hippy" generation, whose only goal was to use drugs. While there was some of that the vast majority of us were basically sincere about trying to make some changes. I also note that there seemed to be much more protesting being covered by the media than now. However I think now the protesting has gone undergrown and is done on the net.

At this stage, looking back I can see the manipulation of most of the movements by the puppet masters. At first this saddened me, but now I am filled with optimism for the wonderful change that will be happening.

This is a global phenomena and you can check how Canada feels about the NWO. Paying Income Tax only helps them achieve their agenda of a New World Order. The best way to defeat them is for all Americans to stop paying this tax. I feel that more and more Americans are doing this. According to a retired judge friend it is now in the millions. I also feel that t the US Marshals stand against the Browns could be one of the last shows of force in cases like this. The frightening statement of one of the enforsers......they didn't care about whether the law was legal or not .........sent chills up and down the spines of most Americans who read that statement. They had better bloody well care about the laws they are asked to enforce, this is not Nazi Germany yet!

History has always shown that the people win. Yes there have been times when there has been tremendous violence.......usually instigated by the so called "authorities." In the end the people do overcome. There is more of us than them.

We have every reason to be optimistic!
