That would take weeks or months for any food to grow from seed. What are your thoughts? I guess if you live in a tropical region, food may be easier to get.

Edit: That is if Ron Paul isn't elected or is assasinated (hate to say) and if there is no plan B in that case. (By the way I am thinking of spreading the plan b option of electing Marshall B. Rosenberg, author of Nonviolent Communication for pres. if Ron is assassinated. He has used a radically simple use of language all over the world to create peace and awaken minds to the subtleties of oppression, as language is probably the primary factor determining freedom or slavery).

Edit 2: Gosh, I was thinking just about thinking of a plan B if Ron Paul is assassinated and was noticing how much energy is diverted to that concept instead of Ron Paul. In other words, I was thinking, is it better that we all don't have a plan b, people get excited about Ron Paul, and if he wins, Yippie, and if he is assassinated then people will try to figure something out when it is probably way too late? In other words I'm kinda not clear on even thinking of a plan B although it seems very naive and ignorant. Thoughts, comments,...

Side note: Gosh, I'm amazed at how many visitors are here that aren't currently members. 40 visitors and 2 members, me and MW. That's good to see; hopefully they're getting their fill of the free articles/media on the site or reading the forums.

always remember two things...

filthy sewer water can be cleaned by using a pressure cooker, and long lengths of copper/metal tubing... long lengths..

even the worst water, can be cleaned by steam distillation for drinking.

and...

the sewers are filled with cockaroaches.

I didn't understand why the long lengths of tubing. I was thinking some might have difficulty getting electricity to power a pressure cooker, and copper is quite expensive isn't it? I have read that water can be cleaned pretty well after a nuke by digging down ~4' to clay, put it in a container and let the water pass through and drip out the bottom. Ya, simple distillation with a piece of glass, clear plastic, or even soaking up condensation works (doesn't provide too much). Over the past ~6 months I've had about 20 gallons of drinking water from a very simple 'biosand filter' that I made. It isn't really the sand that does the fine filtration, rather the scum layer that forms on the top of the sand after a couple weeks of use. I have had nooo problems with it, for cleaning the water I catch from the rain. There are pictures of it mainly in Africa on the internet; it is surprising how this verY effective and simple method has only really been discovered/used in the past few years in '3rd world' countries. Maybe one of these days (hopefully soon) I'll take some pictures and link it to a myspace page, or something, so people can get a visual. i SUGGEST you study distillation...

you need a very long tube... toallow the steam to cool into water.

if the tube is to short... you will just get steam out the end.

it must be very long.

in a pinch... you can tear out the cooling coils from behind refrigerators, and use auto parts to seal up leaks...

if your interested I could explain it all.

but google can do as much.

I keep a pressure cooker around... just in case.

I contacted this guy suggesting instead of waiting for investors he sell to people that can buy and use profit to grow. I suggested he could use the container to package other food so as to serve a dual purpose with a usable container later. I commented that he would be making 'bank' when he wrote that he was planning on selling each for $20! when clear recyclable soda pop bottles cost mere cents. I also have seen a soda pop bottle that claims it is compostable totally made from cornmeal; it's totally clear (it said it would take a while to decompose).

thats fine and dandy so what are you going to do when you run out beg for more food. i think not i rather go out and hunt my food since i have experince on doing that anyway and i stay out of the city thats where the real danger is traped in your house when looting rioting going on and thugs looting homes i no longer live in the city limits.thank god for that i,ve got basic knowdlege on hunting and survial more than most people have in the city.

people die of amino acid deficiency... rather quickly.

anemia... is also very real..

And B- vitamins are so helpful to the mind.

It is for these simple reasons... that people eat meat.

Because if they dont.. they must knowling eat right.. regularly. or WEAKEN and potentially die.

Hi MT, My point wasn't about whether to eat meat or not, as that is up to an 'individual', but rather the animals we live with and that provide us with food are precious beings that I hope can have the very best life they live with lots of love and care. Any time neglect falls upon a being on this planet or elsewhere, it is dangerous to the health of all everywhere. Did you get a chance to watch the media yet?

Visiting my parents, my Mother had a book on the table by Victoria Boutenko called 'Green for Life', and I recommend it for consideration because it pointed out some things like 'greens' can easily provide you with what your body needs to make complete protein (and also very often has greater or double+ the amount of nutrients the best organic common vegetables/fruits at stores have). That was the radical revelation to me because it stimulated me to envision that it could be possible for all to live more healthily than ever, even if all super markets shut down, gas is unattainable, ....
