MY old man taught me these, they're mad fun. But if you want to say, do some damage to a tree. PLace a nail spike, Lag bolt or light weight rebar down the center of the spud.
There all types of different variations you can make .

I heard storys about somebody placing a steel pipe in a spud and putting it through a truck door , going through the cab, and then lodging in the other door. But i guess thats one for mythbusters.
