Now, I'm not sure how this guy thought this would work. It seems to be a very dangerous way to work a system.

It seems to me that anytime you are dealing with a bank in the U.S.A. in any matter, the government has their hooks.

I've seen offshore schemes come and go, but as long as you are paid in check/transfer that originates from a U.S. bank, you really can't avoid the government getting wind. They may be slow in reacting, but, if the numbers are big enough, you are on someones radar.

The only safe way this could work is if the source of your money were offshore, the bank is offshore, and you deal with an international ATM/debit card/credit card. But, sooner or later, enough money flows through a state-side ATM, the government will look into it.

In practice the government may have its hooks, but not in law. It is a right to make an agreement with another person to hold onto their property. That's not a privilege of any sort. The government does not have the power to regulate or restrict a right -- plain and simple.

In practice -- in an unlawful society -- it's another story.

Well, I remember reading about so-called "safety societies" in the 1830's that went bust after issuing their own money, and I think it was then that the government started looking at controlling "private banks".

While I agree with you, in principle, Shaun, I think getting the government out of banking is going to be impossible. I would like to see a discussion of picking the battles we CAN win.

Top on my list in taxes. I won't pay taxes, especially not income taxes, because it funds terrorism, torture, and murder. I would highly encourage others to take this approach. Those taxes fund 9/11-style terror attacks, 10s of 1000s of civilians dying in Iraq and elsewhere, and all sorts of other nasty shit (chemtrails, food/water poisoning, genetic experimentation with food and on us, and worse!). So -- are you going to make excuses, keep paying taxes, and say "oh well." Or are you going to do what's right and withdraw from the voluntary tax system?

If you need helping doing it, there are good people out there. I recommend Dave Champion (www.nontaxpayer.org) to help you with your nontaxpayer affairs. Otherwise, just don't pay, anymore. You can make it so your employer doesn't take it out any more.
