McCain picks his VP - McCain didn't even know her????? That I am surprised to hear. I thought for sure he would have known her just by either going to Republican functions or party meetings. With Ms. Palin having virtually no international experience what so ever I can't

He seems to like Beauty Queens........his wife was a former beauty queen and now his running mate is a former beauty queen.

I think McCain's pick for VP was truly a move of desperation. He knows that he has to do something extremely innovative and un-orthodox to even have a snowball's chance of halting Obama's power surging campaign that up till now has left him looking pretty ordinary. He also did this to try to dispell the public's perception of him being a typical political hack that he truly is. I will say that it sort of surprised me. I did predict to one of my very good friends last night that he would pick a woman. But this even surprised me. I thought he would either pick Conde-sleeza Rice or Kay Bailey Hutchinson. I would have even bet a modest amount of money that he was going to pick Hutchinson because of Texas being a huge Electoral Vote state. I was completely surprised by this little know lady governor.
Albeit I'll assure you that she will be nothing more than window dressing if they do happen to get in to the White House. His pick of this particular woman was for 2 primary reasons: To try to appeal to many young conservatives who are leaving the Republican Party by the droves and to hoodwink the public into believing that he stands for change just like Obama's campaign has tried to drive home.
I would hate to bet on who is going to be president come January. With Obama or McCain either one we the American people are the ultimate losers and will suffer equally under either one of these crooks. But I will admit that there is some entertainment aspects to McCain's pick.

And the Presidential Candidate McCain has been fighting melanoma and is 72 years old! Both his father and grandfather died of heart attacks!

When Palin's own father got a call on his cell phone, (he was going to one of his fishing/hunting lodges) his first expression was "holy cow!"

McCain does not even know her. He met her briefly ONE TIME.........prior to nominating her. So just who is doing the nominating? We know that Lieberman has been travelling all over with him. We also know that Lieberman is a duo citizen Zionist..............so what is going on here? Now even the presidential nominee can not pick his own VP?

On top of that she appears to be a decent person from what I've read about her so far ( Just the opposite of McCain). Something just isn't right here at all.

Just what if they would win the White House and McCain would die for what ever reason??>>>> She wouldn't have any more political experience on an international level than any USA big city mayor would have. I do realize that this is a marketing strategy more than anything but you would think that a VP would have to have some raw, hands-on experience in national politics to qualify for this job. Or at least have one complete term as governor???

I have nothing against the lady at all but for the same reason I really wouldn't want my neighbor lady to be VP either.

But when you add up all of the extremely weird and unusual aspects of the 2008 presidential campaign this is just another very extraordinary event in a very unusual presidential election year.

Just as I shared with another MTS Forum member this is the first presidential election year I ever remember that I haven't seen any bumper stickers or campaign signs here anywhere I live ( Kansas City, MO). I've yet to meet and talk to any neighbors who are for either candidate or even have anything good to say about either one of them.

Truly something is not right when you look at the big 2008 campaign picture. It is spooky to say the least. JD
