Experts: Palin Owes $25,000 In Back Taxes

Several tax experts said they believe Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin is required to pay federal taxes on $25,000 in reimbursements from the state of Alaska for her children's travel expenses.

The Alaska governor released her 2006 and 2007 tax returns on Friday, sparking a lively debate on tax blogs and among tax professionals over whether reimbursements and per-diem meal payments from the state should be subject to federal taxes. Since taking office in December 2006, Gov. Palin, whose state salary is $125,000 a year, received reimbursements totaling $43,500 for travel and lodging for her family in connection with state business. Of that total, $25,000 was for her children's travel and the rest was for her husband, Todd, the Washington Post reported

Well personally I"m not going to blast her for that when I sincerely believe that the Income tax laws are a fraud to begin with.

I do see your point however with her being a integral part of the government. And to that degree it is a bit hypocritical I will admit. But I personally don't want to verbally beat up on anybody over the income tax issue when it is Constitutionally illegal and should be abolished all together. Also I won't argue with you that she is another typical, flaky, mainline politician. But compared to the rest of them she is truly a misdemeanor in a forest of felonies.

The tax system in this country is completely outrageous and it is way too high anyway. There is just no accountability at all for what they do with the tax money nor do they obey any laws themselves. Governor Palin is just being used as a marketing pawn and she has no power to speak of at all.
