Most of us don't like our taxes. Some of us don't pay them. But, for most of us, its inescapable. They get you with fees and taxes, even if they can't get you to file the "big one" on a 1040.

I'm getting sick and tired of no responsibility and not being able to hold them accountable for the money they spend in our names.

Lately, it's roads that that I've been thinking of. But, it's also other elements. Did you know that the City of Seattle spent millions on a newer, smaller government building that was supposed to be "green", conserving water, power, and releasing less into the environment. Guess what? They failed. Turns out, after they were forced to release the studies and numbers (they had to re-release the numbers because the first set were doctored) the older building held more offices, had better services for Seattle citizens, and...AND was more green than the new building.

How many of you live in areas where there is perpetual roadwork being done, but they do nothing to relieve traffic, and are always paying bonuses to construction companies that deliver late and substandard?

So, holding them accountable, how? Boycott is fine, but, you still have to drive somewhere. You can try to vote them out of office, but you have one vote. I've thought about running for one of the local districts. Hell, we just had a one fire district commissioner punch out another, I think at least one seat will be open this fall.

What if we all got into office and refused to spend the money unless it could be verified, accounted for, and came with enough strings that those who receive the money couldn't help but DO THEIR JOBS?

The system isn't designed to work. That's what you must come to terms with. We cannot win by fighting within the system. To fight within the system is to sacrifice all of your time and energy on a battle that can't be won.

Remember the saying, "it's not what you know, it's who you know."

Politics is all about connections -- you won't get into office without connections. You won't be able to make changes inside. There are major groups (Masonic lodges for example) that control it all. They have endless resources at their disposal. They've infected our government from before the Declaration of Independence.

You need to get on board with what we're advocating here -- it is the only solution. That's why we made this website. It's counter-productive to advocate working within the system.

I was thinking: One site for petitions. There are many petition sites and so they aren't effective. If there was one site that everybody knew was for making a difference, then I imagine that would be effective. Although, it is electronic and can be hacked and manipulated.
