Brown supporters' arrest: A 'gun in every room'

By KATHRYN MARCHOCKI
New Hampshire Union Leader Staff
One of four men accused of helping convicted tax evaders Edward and Elaine Brown avoid arrest allegedly had a "gun in every room" when agents arrested him in Vermont Wednesday, and another recently enlisted in the U.S. Army and had a pipe bomb and other weapons in his New York home when authorities searched it yesterday, officials said.

[There is nothing immoral or criminal about having a gun in every room.  It doesn't matter if you own one gun, or one million, as long as you don't use the weapons in a crime (threatening or harming another) it is not immoral or unlawful.  The same applies to a "pipe bomb" although it would surprise me if those reports are true.  Federal criminals with badges and guns commonly plant guns/bombs on victims during arrest procedures]

Two of the men pleaded not guilty in federal court yesterday to charges they provided guns or other supplies to the Plainfield couple and helped hinder federal agents from taking the Browns into custody. Two others are awaiting extradition to face charges here.

"We've said from the very beginning ... that people who may be aiding and abetting the Browns are subject to investigation, arrest and prosecution," U.S. Marshal for New Hampshire Stephen R. Monier told reporters after the U.S. District Court hearings.

[It is quite impossible to "aid and abet" when a crime was never committed in the first place.  Who have the Browns threatened or injured prior to arrest and prosecution?  Who is the victim?  There is none.  No victim -- no crime]

All four men were arrested Wednesday in various states after a federal grand jury in Concord returned indictments earlier that day on charges ranging from the supplying the fugitive couple with food, weapons and armed security to conducting counter-surveillance of federal agents.

[Providing the couple with food and security?  This sounds like protection to me.  It is a crime to protect innocent people who have never threatened, harmed, or injured others?  I don't think this is a crime -- I think it's honorably and responsibly helping your fellow man]

"This was a tax case, but the Browns have allegedly engaged with others and encouraged others to assist them in their ongoing obstruction of justice," Monier added. "Unfortunately, that only adds to his legal difficulties and to ongoing criminal investigations into their conduct."

[Obstruction of justice?  Who has had justice here?  The Browns, who have NEVER agreed to be under martial rule and subject to "statutes," "codes," and "regulations," and have NOT victimized anyone have been sentenced to PRISON for what?  Let's see the exact statute, section, subsection, everything, that ALLEGEDLY made them liable in the first place.  You say it exists, but you can't produce it...hmmmm.  While you're at it -- show them your jurisdiction over them.  They've said many times that all you need to do is show the law -- or since you don't have any law, a statute/code precisely identified by title, chapter, section, subsection will suffice.  It doesn't exist.  There is no justice here and you know it!]

The Browns, who were found guilty in January and sentenced in abstentia to 63 months in federal prison in April, have remained holed up in their fortress-style home despite repeated calls for their surrender.

[Found guilty of a crime without a victim, and found breaking a law that doesn't exist?  Just show us the law -- we've been waiting for decades now]

They claim the federal income tax is not legitimate and have said they will die defending themselves and their home.

[Sounds to me like they really believe in something -- perhaps they believe in the Constitution and the rule of law?  Law isn't really your strong suite (funny since you call yourselves "law enforcement") since you can't SHOW THE LAW.]

Robert Wolffe, 50, of Randolph, Vt., and Daniel Riley, 40, of Albany, N.Y., were arraigned in separate, brief hearings yesterday.

Cirino "Reno" Gonzalez, 30, of Alice, Texas, and Jason Gerhard, 22, of Brookhaven, N.Y., were arrested in Texas and Missouri, respectively.

They face extradition hearings in those states and are expected to be returned to New Hampshire in several days to face charges here, Monier said.

Gerhard, who recently enlisted in the Army, was arrested at Fort Leonard Wood, according to the U.S. marshal's office. Police and federal agents searched his Long Island, N.Y., home yesterday, where they seized a pipe bomb, rifles and other weapons, officials said.

Wolffe, who was arrested in Hartford, Vt., pleaded not guilty to accessory after the fact. He is accused of providing the Browns with a car used by the couple's supporters to run errands and gather supplies for the fugitive couple.

Wolffe also is alleged to have provided armed security to the Browns, conducted counter-surveillance of federal marshals and used his home as base to ship food and other supplies to the Browns, the indictment charges.

Wolffe allegedly had a "gun in every room" when agents came to arrest him, Judge James R. Muirhead said.

Riley, 40, who was arrested in Cohoes, N.Y., was arraigned on a four-count federal indictment alleging he bought firearms, brought firearms to the Browns' home, and publicly announced he would forcibly resist U.S. marshals' efforts to arrest the couple.

[What would drive a man or woman to do such things?  Only a strong belief that goes straight to the heart.  Danny and the others risked everything -- their very own lives -- to help a couple who've committed no crime, done no wrong, broken no "law."]

He pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to prevent federal officers from discharging their duties, conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States, accessory after the fact, and carrying and possessing a firearm in connection with a violent crime.

Riley also is charged with delivering fire extinguishers to the couple's house, because he thought federal agents would set it on fire, and equipping it with motion detector lights.

[HOLY CRAP!!!  Well, now this is different.  Fire extinguishers -- that's a capital offense there.  It's illegal to put out fires started by the feds (or anyone else)!!!  Perhaps the motion-detector lights were unlicensed!  For god's sake put an end to these crimes!]

Riley and Wolffe were appointed lawyers and ordered held in U.S. marshal's custody pending a bail hearing Monday. Their trials are set to begin Nov. 6.

Wolffe's attorney, Paul Garrity, said he plans to argue Wolffe does not pose a flight risk or a danger to the community.

[It would surprise me to hear that these men willingly accepted GOVERNMENT lawyers (all lawyers are government since they pay dues to a private corporation given monopolistic protection from de facto (illegitimate) government.  Lawyers are also "officers of the court" and are bound to serve the court first and their "clients" second]

Supporters warned

Yesterday's hearing drew a handful of the Browns' supporters to the courthouse. One wore a T-shirt saying, "I support Ed and Elaine Brown. Show me the law!"

Wolffe's wife also was there but declined to speak to reporters.

[No wonder she didn't want to speak to you guys.  You are irresponsible, biased sensationalists.  You have sold the honorable responsibility given to you as journalists for MONEY and PROTECTION from government.  You media outlets -- owned by just a few huge global conglomerates -- are merely arms and tools of the de facto government.  The blood of the innocent is on your hands as well]

Monier would not say if future arrests are expected, though he said marshals are involved in a number of investigations.

While the Browns have drawn support from across the country, some relationships have ended bitterly after the Browns squabbled with bloggers, radio hosts and several spokesmen and assistants.

[I can't think of a single relationship that has ended bitterly.  Even those few (I can think of two) who had disagreements with the Browns (understandable with so much pressure and stress involved) are still AVID supporters.  So -- how come you can't name names here?  This line is only here to further discredit the Browns with your propaganda]

"Their support has begun to diminish by their actions and steps we have taken," Monier said.

[HA!!  More propaganda!!!  You guys and your propaganda make the Nazis look like complete amateurs!!!  Support has only grown -- steadily and surely since the beginning.  We have the numbers on the Internet and in body to prove it!]

Monier said federal agents have cut off the couple's telephone and utility service and stopped mail deliveries.

[From which "laws" is your authority to do such things derived?  I can't find any.  You just march in their with your shiny badges and black battle dress uniforms and tell these peons to do your bidding.  They are happy to comply with their masters and please their masters.  You have no LAWFUL or LEGAL authority to do such things!  If I'm wrong -- you could always SHOW ME THE LAW]

"We are going to take a slow, deliberate, methodical approach to convincing the Browns that they need to do the right thing and surrender," Monier said.

[All you're trying to do by arresting "supporters" is make the Browns feel guilty.  How is surrendering the right thing, when you're violating the Constitution and all law in this land?  The right thing to do when a THIEF tries to steal from you is RESIST.  You still have the option of simply producing the "law" or "statute" or "code" that makes the Browns and men and women like them liable for such a tax.  They will surrender if you can produce this law.  You are OBLIGATED by MORALITY to do it!  The only reason you don't is because YOU KNOW DAMN WELL NO SUCH LAW EXISTS.  Instead, you try to fall back on "just doing my job" and "just following orders.  THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN A FREE SOCIETY WITH A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE -- BY CONSENT!!]

While he said "we are keeping all lines of communication open,' he would not say if one of his agents continues to maintain regular telephone contact with the Browns.

[How can "all lines of communication" be open when they've unlawfully cut the Browns' phone lines?  That makes a whole lot of sense.  Even if the lines were open -- the federales aren't communicating anything of substance such as SHOWING ED & ELAINE THE LAW.  Pullleeeease.]

Monier said concern over "hazardous conditions" believed to exist at the Browns' property are another reason why supporters should stay away from their home.

[The only hazardous conditions that I know of are the feds' repeated harassment and violent acts against the Browns and supporters (such as what they did to Danny in June, another guy in July, and now four guys including Danny (again) in September!!!]

He warned supporters and news media against attending a "Fall Freedom Fest" planned at the Browns' home tomorrow.

[Warned?  Is this a threat?  It sounds like a threat.  A threat is when you have no lawful reason to act in any adversarial way towards someone.  A warning is when you HAVE a lawful reason -- such as the Browns repeatedly WARNING the feds that any attempts at their lives/freedom will be defended against with deadly force if necessary.  These feds are unlawfully threatening supporters now too!]

"I would strongly urge you not to go there," Monier said.

Like Riley, Gerhard and Gonzalez lived with the Browns at various times this year and allegedly bought firearms, brought firearms to the Browns' home and publicly announced they would forcibly resist U.S. marshals' efforts to arrest the couple, the indictments allege.

[It is completely lawful to defend others who have committed no crimes and owe no allegiance to outside forces (such as these federal mercenaries).]

Gerhard also is accused of buying a M44 rifle, three Ruger rifles and a high-powered Serbu .50 rifle from New Hampshire firearms dealers and tried to have firearms accessories he bought from a Maryland dealer be delivered to the Browns' home.

He also is charged with accepting delivery of a Bushmaster rifle.

[We're still waiting to hear the name or see the face of the victim here.  No one has been threatened or hurt.  No crime has been committed.]

Brown, a retired exterminator, and his wife, Elaine, 66, a dentist, were found guilty in January of plotting to hide their income and avoid taxes on the $1.9 million Elaine Brown earned between 1996 and 2003.

The four arrests drew reaction from one Brown supporter, who said the action amounts to "tyranny."

"You have arrested four innocent men," Shaun Allen Kranish wrote on MakeTheStand.com.

"It appears to me that you're digging your graves even deeper," he added.

[First off, I don't believe the way this sentence was taken out of context is responsible at all.  They are trying to make it sound like a threat.  Any reasonable man or woman who has not fallen victim to this trick knows that what I said was an EXPRESSION.  This is not a threat, and I wasn't talking about life or death.  I was talking about the feds making themselves even more guilty and incriminated in the eyes of the public -- I'm talking about the court of public opinion here.  What a great trick done by the media -- indeed, they do this all of the time!  I have also formally put them on notice via telephone that they've used my property -- my common law copyrighted private name -- without my authorization.  This is in direct violation of my copyright notice and agreement.  There is no provision in my agreement to allow them to use my name under any circumstance without my authorization.  I will be taking further action under common law until they remove this infringement and write a small apology.  I will waive the fee for unauthorized usage if they comply, and will bill them if they don't.]
