Watch the bravery of the old guy -- he knew what was going on!  The police (or other agents of the so-called government) had their own guys in there who were intent on starting a riot!  The riot would be used to defame the protesters while at the same time giving the government the rationalization to use extreme force!!!  The same thing happened in Miami years ago.  Watch the films from the Miami NAFTA protest!  The non-violent protesters were gassed, shot with rubber bullets and beanbags (a few people are permanently disabled from it), tasered, and beat with clubs.  THE POLICE STATE IS NOT COMING.
